In 1998, the Reverend Debra Snellen and Gail Drake formed LEAMIS International Ministries as an interdenominational, evangelical Christian organization. The purpose of the ministry is to help equip God’s people (Ephesians 4:12) through leadership development and missions training (Matthew 28:19-20a).

LEAMIS believes in ministering to the whole person and endeavors to meet spiritual and physical needs through biblical training and community development projects initiated by the local church.
In Acts 3, we see Peter and John extending a helping hand so that the man could rise up and walk on his own. LEAMIS encourages the local church to follow that example and to raise up leaders who will reach their communities and country with the Gospel, as well as developing ways to raise the standard of living through water purification systems, better nutrition, improving sanitation, and cottage industry development.
LEAMIS teams frequently consist of people from the US as well as the host church.
