How ’bout those chicks! (goats and pigs!) – Animal Husbandry

This is a customizable trip that is great for the individual or a group up to 4 people. The trip dates and length are based on your schedule.

Your knowledge and experience with working with chickens, goats, and/or cows can enhance the production of these animals among the poor in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. You will be working through the local church by assisting their programs for orphans and widows, as well as others in the congregation.

Creative thinking may be needed as you share how to maximize animal production and care within the conditions and space available.

You will be able to share your faith in a tangible way as you help people learn how to improve their standard of living through increased production of animals, care for their animals, and development of cottage industry opportunities.
Requirements: Knowledge and experience in the care and raising of chickens, goats, and/or pigs. Basic health care for animals and how it relates to human health care is also needed.

We will provide you with the information and/or training needed for your workshops.

We suggest you plan a few extra days to experience a Safari and/or a Maasai village.

Cost: $25 to $30 per day for room and board. In-country expenses (such as taxi or bus fare) are additional.

A visa is required.
